This was a life changing trip. For two weeks Carla and Colin traveled around South Africa with 20+ other people at the beginning of their spring season. We flew into Johannesburg and then a story-telling bus driver named Earnest drove us in a huge bus all over the northern part of the country. The trip was well organized by Dawid De Wet from https://toerboer.co.za/ whose love of nature and knowledge about the connections the land and animals have is very obvious. Shayne Traviss from https://vividlife.me/ultimate/ coordinated with Dawid to fine tune the schedule and places we would visit and together they made a trip that was flawless.

We rubbed mud on a baby rhino, saw natural herds of elephants and their young, slept outdoors in Kruger National Park, visited schools and planted trees with the students, ate bugs, and were able to unplug from the concrete grind. The food was cooked on an open fire, the students all wanted to take pictures with us and try Colin’s steadicam and we danced by a fire while someone played a drum made from cow hide. The list of epic adventures goes on and on. This trip solidified our love for traveling filmmaking and made us want to see other parts of the world through a good telephoto lens.
