We love the city we live in. Empty Cup has found an artistic family in Oshawa and are proud to be creating content to help share how we really feel about it. To us, Oshawa is a vibrant and creative community where there are many opportunities to meet people, eat great food and get outdoors. This video features a lot of what Oshawa has to offer. The waterfront, Oshawa Museum, Parkwood, the Regiment Museum, the Bandshell, the Automotive Museum, Civic Square, the RMG, the Living Room, the Peony Festival, Lakeview Park, Durham College, Arts Resource Centre, the Oshawa Mosque, the Paint Factory and many other great spots appear in the film.
The City of Oshawa comissioned poet Jaylen Stark to write and perform the spoken word piece. Colin from Empty Cup recorded Jaylen’s script, cut the poem to the song and began digging through his Oshawa hard drive for appropriate shots to match Jaylen’s references. We are incredibly proud of this piece and of you Oshawa. We’re glad we live in a city where Culture Counts.
