Much Love, Scott Documentary

Every year we participate in the “International 5 Day Documentary Challenge”. At the beginning of the competition, teams are given a theme and a genre, and in only 5 days they must shoot, edit and deliver a 5-7 minute documentary. We drew “behind the curtain” and “first person” as our theme and genre.

Much Love, Scott placed top 12 internationally which got our film into the 2014 Hot Docs to screen with the other 11 winners. Our film played at the Bell TIFF Lightbox Theatre in downtown Toronto and won the “Best use of 1st person” award. We were the only team from Canada, and it was our second year in a row placing in the top 12.

The film is about Scott and Karen Burwell who are reunited with lost love letters from over four decades ago, revealing how the art of letter writing can be a window to the soul.
