Light Painting

Long Exposure Magic

Light Painting

Have you ever tried taking a photo of you writing your name with a sparkler? Light painting functions on the same principal of taking long exposure photos on a tripod, only with different shapes of lights. We have several types of lights we use to paint with – light tubes, optical whips, spinning LED lights and headlamps are all in our kit. The most striking photos are the ones with huge starry nights behind the subject, but Colin also likes to tinker with his light kit indoors taking photos of high heels. Light painting can be used in a variety of contexts. Check out our gallery of light painting photos and let us know if you have a great idea for a set up.
